What I did this week: I reviewed the constructive criticism from the sharks and I tried to improve myself based off what they said. I also wanted to improve some of my phrases so I practiced a little more. Working on the project for class also helped me practice.

What I am currently working on: I am currently working with Lexi to make this project very appealing as well as informing people on why we chose ASL. I want to influence people to learn, as well as showing them why it is so important.

What I plan to do next: I plan to work on this project until I am satisfied with the aesthetic appeal, as well as the informative portion. I want to also keep practicing my sign language. I have learned a lot, but just because the project is coming to an end doesn’t mean I can’t learn more.

What I did this week: This week I learned new chapters of the ASL book we use to learn sign language. I also reviewed past things we learned so I could get better at them and I have made some progress with what I know.

What I am currently working on: I am currently working with Lexi to write a script so we can practice our 20 Time pitch to the sharks soon. We are reciting the script to each other so we can have an idea of what we want to say, and how we can manage our time in the best way possible.

What I plan to do next: I plan to keep working on the shark tank pitch and make necessary changes in order to say what needs to be said in the short amount of time we are allowed. I want to address a few topics and make a memorable pitch to the sharks.

What I did this week: This week I widened my vocabulary in ASL. I worked with Lexi on
some common phrases in our book as she did this as well. We both had forgotten a couple of phrases so it was nice to be able to review with her.

What I am currently working on: Right now, Lexi and I are working in learning more complex phrases along with new ones. We both can hold a basic conversation but we would like to become fluent in ASL. This experience has been difficult but we are both determined to be fluent.

What I plan to do next: I plan to learn more chapters of our book while continuously practicing our old phrases. I also plan to review the things we learned in the beginning even more than we have been due to the unexpected difficulty of the project we have created.

What I did this week: This week I learned more complex phrases and I was able to use them in conversation with my partner, Lexi. I am getting to where I would be comfortable with talking to someone who is fluent in sign language. I still have a long way to go.

What I am currently working on: Right now, I am just practicing what I already know. Lexi and I will practice conversations using ASL to help us learn things we need help with. I want to practice each of the sections until I am not struggling to sign to people.

What I plan to do next: I plan to keep practicing the things I already know as well as learn new, less common things. I want to have a wide vocabulary in ASL that way I can feel less out of place if I had to sign to someone who only knew ASL.

What I did this week: This week I was able to start a conversation in ASL with my partner, Lexi. It was just basic sentences and words but I was able to sign complete sentences and understand when Lexi signed back to me. Being able to understand what Lexi signed raised my confidence and motivated me to learn more phrases.

What I am currently working on: I am currently working on mastering basic conversation and I am learning new phrases to broaden my sign language vocabulary. I want to practice the simple things so I can become fluent in the language.

What I plan to do next: I plan on learning these new phrases and being able to have a conversation that is more complex. I want to learn the words and phrases until I am confident enough that I could sign to deaf people if I ever needed to.

What I accomplished this week:
So far I have learned some of the basics of sign language through video tutorials and an ASL book. I now know the basics of sign language along with some things about ASL that I wasn’t aware of before, such as the importance of facial expressions.
What I am currently working on:
Right now, Lexi and I are working on learning some common English phrases in sign language. We are taking time every couple of days to learn a few more sentences, and we hope to be able to confidently introduce ourselves to other people using ASL.
What I plan to do next:
What I want to learn next are some other useful sections of the book along with mastering what I already know. I want to practice the things I know to gain the confidence I need to hold a conversation.
